The Central Frozen Semen Production & Training Institute (CFSPTI), established in 1969 under the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, is a premier national centre dedicated to advancing cattle breeding through scientific methods. Founded to meet the country’s need for high-quality frozen semen and skilled manpower in artificial insemination, CFSPTI has pioneered semen production from genetically superior bulls and set national standards for semen processing in line with global best practices. Over the decades, it has evolved into a hub of excellence, supplying quality frozen semen to breeding networks across India and providing specialised training to veterinarians, technicians, and officers from semen stations. Upholding a legacy of scientific rigor and service to the farming community, CFSPTI continues to strengthen the genetic base of Indian livestock, support the National Livestock Breeding Policy, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the country’s animal husbandry sector.
